Fingerprint Calculator

Tell us about your company — we'll turn our findings into guidance for your situation.

Your funding anchor
Seed$3.2Mn=70
Series A$16.9Mn=24
Series B$64.4Mn=16
Series C+$260Mn=13
Series A pre-money anchors at $80.5M (n=16), about 50% above the non-AI baseline. Budget for 4-5× jumps at each step.
Which pool you're likely in

The market sorts to the poles: 47% of funded AI-natives raise under $5M lifetime, only 2% pass $500M, and the middle stays thin. Three features predict the right tail — founder pedigree (prior unicorn exit or Tier-1 AI lab), a brand-name lead on a priced round, and a capital-intensive sub-sector. Outside that profile, plan for a sub-$100M trajectory and price your equity accordingly — running a $20M-seed playbook on a $3M raise is the expensive mistake.

What to focus on at your team size (6–15 people)

Build eval discipline before velocity outpaces it. Give one person dedicated eval and infra ownership. Run evals in CI and block merges when scores drop. This is also the cheapest size to run outcomes-pricing experiments — pick one segment and test it.

Your playbook priorities

Notion's AI team reportedly went from 3 to 30 fixed issues a day on an eval-driven workflow.
Price for outcomes, not seats.
Sierra bills per resolved ticket; Paid raised $21M to be the billing rails for the pattern.

The Fingerprint Calculator

Founder's AI Blueprint, Issue 001. Tell us about your company — the Calculator turns Issue 001's findings into guidance for your situation. It is an advisor, not a database lookup. You enter your stage, sub-sector, and team size, and it returns tailored advice drawn from what we found: your funding anchor, which pool to plan for, what to focus on at your team size, and your top playbook priorities.

It does not predict your odds of reaching the next round. It does not estimate your company's value. It does not benchmark you against the foundation labs (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Mistral, Cohere — excluded by design). It takes the strongest output of this issue — the findings and the playbook — and points them at your inputs.

How to use it

Pick three inputs:

  • Stage: All stages / Pre-seed / Seed / Series A / Series B+
  • Sub-sector: All sub-sectors / AI agents / AI infrastructure / Vertical AI app / AI developer tools / AI data tooling / Horizontal AI copilot / AI safety / Other AI
  • Team size: numeric (1-200)

Every combination returns advice — there are no dead ends and no empty cohorts, because the Calculator is reasoning from the article's published findings, not looking up which specific companies matched your filters.

What the output means

Four advisor blocks, always populated:

1. Your funding anchor

The median deal size and, where the article publishes it, the pre-money for your selected stage — Seed $3.2M (n=70), Series A $16.9M deal / $80.5M pre-money (n=24 / n=16), Series B $64.4M (n=16), Series C+ $260M (n=13). Select "All stages" to see the full ladder. These are the article's own published, defensible numbers, each labeled with its sample size — not a live recompute of whichever companies matched your filters.

2. Which pool you're likely in

The market sorts to the poles: 47% of funded AI-natives raise under $5M lifetime, only 2% pass $500M, and the middle stays thin. This block tells you, given your stage and sub-sector, which trajectory to plan against and how to price equity — the right tail needs founder pedigree, a brand-name lead, and a capital-intensive sub-sector, and the block is honest about whether your inputs fit that profile.

3. What to focus on at your team size

Rule-based guidance mapped from one consistent team-size scheme (1-5, 6-15, 16-50, 51+), grounded in the operator playbook: the majority-cohort discipline for 1-5, eval ownership for 6-15, the revenue-per-employee audit and orchestrator pattern for 16-50, and honest universe-wide framing for 51+, where you're past the dataset's core.

4. Your playbook priorities

The two or three of the five playbook tactics most relevant to your stage and team size, each as a one-line imperative with its supporting stat. An early tiny team sees "Stay small" and "Ship the bolt-on first"; a larger or later-stage team sees "Eval discipline," "Outcomes pricing," and "Distribution first."

What changed from earlier versions

Earlier versions of the Calculator were a cohort lookup — "here are the N companies in our universe that look like you," plus a list of the investors most active in that cohort. That framing was built on the weakest data in the project: small-n cells, a Europe-weighted sample, and unfamiliar regional investors that undercut rather than reinforced credibility. We removed the cohort roster and the investor list entirely. The Calculator now reasons from the article's strongest, most defensible output instead.

Caveats

The Calculator inherits the universe-coverage caveats of the underlying dataset. Read the full methodology at /methodology before drawing conclusions for major fundraising decisions.

  • Europe-weighted universe. 44% EU, 23% US, 10% UK, 1% Israel, 23% other. If you are US-based, weight our numbers against the Carta and PitchBook-NVCA Q1 2026 benchmarks the article cites.
  • Published figures, one point in time. Every number the Calculator shows is a published Issue 001 finding, current as of the May 25, 2026 PitchBook export. It describes the universe we measured, at the time we measured it — no causation, no prediction.
  • Sub-sector tags are heuristic. Most companies are sub-sector-tagged by description regex with manual overrides for the 19 article-cited companies; treat sub-sector inputs as directional, especially AI agents.
